Q. What time does the ama show start and how often?

A. The number of demonstrations and the performance times vary depending on the season.

Q. Can I see the ama show even in the winter?

A. You can see the demonstrations all year round, but they may be cancelled in the case of stormy weather (lightning, strong winds, or typhoons).

Q. When is Mikimoto Pearl Island closed?

A. Mikimoto Pearl Island is open all year round with the exception of three days in December starting from the second Tuesday. Check here for the dates.​

Q. Do I need to pay the entrance fee just to visit the pearl shop?

A. Because the entrance ticket includes all of the facilities on the island, the admission fee is required even if you only want to visit the shop.

 

Q. Is there a charge for parking?

A. 2 hours / 600 yen, 200 yen will be charged for each additional hour.

Q. How long does it take to see everything on Mikimoto Pearl Island?

A. It can take from 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, but some guests stay longer than half a day.

Q. Are there group discounts and discounts for people with disabilities?

A. Groups of 20 or more are 1,320 yen for adults and 660 yen for elementary and junior high school students. Also, if you show your disability certificate, adults can enter for 900 yen and elementary and junior high school students for 450 yen.

Q. Can I enter with my pet?

A. You can visit everywhere on the island with your pet except the restaurant. While on the island, please keep pets on a leash or put them in a pet carrier.

Drinking water is available for pets. Please ask the staff for assistance.

Q. Are there any events on the island?

A. We offer a Mikimoto Cosmetics hand cream-making experience for groups, and during Golden Week and summer holidays there are a variety of hands-on events that families can enjoy.

Q. Can small unmanned aerial vehicles (drones, etc.) be used on the island?

A. We do not allow small unmanned aerial vehicles (drones, etc.) to be brought in, operated, or flown from the island to ensure the safety and security of our customers unless special permission has been obtained from Mikimoto Pearl Island.
